For this shoulder workout you need two dumbbells and one barbell.

Focus on shoulders:

  1. Dumbbell presss (while seating you have more stability) – 10 sets with 10 reps
  2. Lateral raises (is going to hit lateral head of shoulders) – 5 sets with 10 reps
  3. Upright rows with cables (now you can see the muscle fibres) – 5 sets with 15 reps

What function does the shoulder musculature have?

Without its surrounding muscles, the shoulder joint would be rather unstable – the reason for this is the disproportion between the large joint head of the upper arm and the relatively small and flat socket formed by the shoulder blade. The shoulder musculature also makes the extensive movements of the arms and shoulders possible, such as turning, lifting or lowering. The main stabilizer is the rotator cuff, which keeps the head of humerus centered in the glenoid cavity of the shoulder blade.
